Snow? Don't know about this......

This feels a little cold, don't ya think Murdoch?
New Years Eve, 2011 welcomed our fist big snowfall in our new home. The Vizslas seemed to be fine. They actually seem like they enjoy the snow. It is a dry, powdery snow.

Cali, Murdoch and Kimi's Big Adventure. Move to Denver, CO.

Cali and Murdoch getting comfy.
Last year we made a move to Denver, Colorado due to my husband's change of jobs. He moved in June, and we packed up the house, kids and dogs and drove from Austin to Denver on September 1st.

Murdoch Fully Crashed out on the journey

And Kimi always in protect mode, enjoying the views.

Cali also in sleepy travel mode
After checking out ways to get my precious cargo (2 Vizslas and a German Shepherd) to Denver safely, I decided that driving would be the best, after all wherever I am, they are happy. So we packed the back seat of my Ford Expedition with nothing but pillows, comforters and three small dog beds in a row, with a non-spill water bowl tuke in the middle. We left just after there business of the day.
They basically slept the first leg of the trip. We drove 6 hours then stopped to eat our picnic lunch at a rest stop. They did their thing, stretched their litle legs, then popped back in the truck. We drove another 6 hours until dark. We made it to Clayton, New Mexico, where our KOA campsite with cabins, that we had booked ahead was waiting unlocked for us, so that the dogs could have a safe place to stay and stretch their legs. No motels for us. This was an excellent way of traveling with our pets. I highly recommend this place if you ever need to do this trip to Denver, CO.
We had breakfast from our ice chest, and made our morning coffee on our camp stove. Walked and fed the dogs. Then we were off the our destination. Another 5 1/2 hours and we were at our new home.
These dogs were fantastic little travelers. I would make this treck again in a heartbeat.
Vizslas: Great Travelers.
