And I never knew such a beautiful and sweet and friendly dog existed.........
Until the day I met Callie and Murdoch, my Vizsla Hounds. This is exactly how they are, always snuggled up together, loving each other along with their adopted sister Kimmi (a german shepherd/Blue Healer mix)
Being a sucker for sweet animals, my husband and I adopted these beautiful creatures back in July 2007. We had just moved to our home with 5 acres, so it wasn't like we didn't have room for them, and we had already adopted their pretty psycho and very anti-social sister Kimmi from Town Lake Animals Shelter earlier that year, who needed some companions of the same species. The minute they all met, they got along very amicably, so it was a hit.
The only issue was that Kimmi had already reserved the bottom half of our bed at night, so we couldn't possibly have room for two more. So, the newest additions staretd out in the kitchen behind kiddie gates. They slept through the night and woke up, oh! around 5am to go out and do their thing. Then back in the kitchen they'd go until we awoke at 6:30am. That was during the summer months. Well, then fall came and things were a little different.... It was rather cool that early in the morning, so on those cooler mornings they would be spoiled and come right into our bed at 5:00am. Then winter came, and then at 5am it was very cool and sometimes rainy and wet. Well instead of having to do all that morning stuff at 5am, I got lazy, and started letting them sleep all night on our bed along with Kimmi. And so it goes, that is how we manage to have a "three dog night" with a cuddly bed full of warm doggies.
